In Support of the Call for Solidarity with Women in Iran

and the March to The Hague

for the

Abolition of all Misogynic Laws in Iran

For the past 27 years the rulers of the Islamic Republic of Iran have imposed a reign of terror over the people there. This reactionary theocratic regime has brutally oppressed and exploited the people of Iran in order to fill the coffers of the ruling classes of that country and offer the people and resources of Iran as a source of super-profit for the imperialist powers of this world.

The medieval ideology of the ayatollahs has in particular targeted women for the most extreme forms of patriarchal subjugation. As the call of the Campaign for Abolition of all Misogynic Gender Based  legislation & Islamic Punitive Laws in Iran points out the Islamic based laws of Iran “criminalize women on the grounds of such simple normal habits of life as uncovered hair and un- Islamic clothing (anything except head to toe cover) in public, strolling in public with men of not blood relations or husband. These laws condemn to death by hanging or stoning unfaithful wives and ‘un-virtuous’ women; they allow the father to marry off his 9 years old daughter; they give a free hand to men to kill their wives, siblings, mothers and daughters for matters of ‘honor’. Women have to obtain an officially signed permission from husband to travel. Women are called half of men in matters such as witnessing in courts. Wives can be divorced unilaterally or can never obtain divorce if they want to. Abortion is illegal and a crime. Islamic judges can interpret all other matters not spelled in the law by relying on the sharia and their own interpretations by referring to books written by any Ayatollah (high ranking priest in Islamic hierarchy).”

This intolerable situation has meant that the women of Iran have existed in a form of semi-slavery for the past 27 years. At the same time they have bravely waged resistance against this brutal oppression in many ways: both seen and unseen, both individually and in an organized fashion. This battle continues and will undoubtedly play a key role in the unfolding struggle of the people of Iran against the regime there and its imperialist backers. It is of crucial importance that here in Europe people of all nationalities and faiths, men and women, young and old, stand actively on the side of our struggling sisters in Iran.

It is especially important that we do so in light of the growing threats by the imperialist big powers to launch aggression against Iran. While they claim that their aggressive behavior against Iran is aimed at “liberating” the people there from the chains of theocratic oppression, their naked aggression in Afghanistan and Iraq tell a completely different story. In Afghanistan their guns have killed tens of thousands and their occupation has led to the establishment of the “Islamic State of Afghanistan” where the sharia is the controlling law and the most reactionary ayatollahs and drug-dealing war lords are in control of the country. In Iraq, they have murdered over 100,000 people and are in the process of “privatizing” (that means “stealing”) Iraq’s rich oil resources and setting up an equally reactionary theocratic regime. Thus their talk of “liberating” the people of Iran from the “unelected ayatollahs” – as if the ayatollahs “elected” in their sham elections are any better – is nothing more than a tactical maneuver designed to camouflage the predatory nature of their ambitions in Iran.

In truth it is only the people of Iran themselves and their struggle which can bring about genuine liberation. For that reason it is crucial that in the current situation we support the genuine people’s struggles in that country. The struggle of the women of Iran against the anti-women misogynic laws of the Islamic Republic is one such struggle. The POC (Europe) is calling on all WPRM chapters and supporters and all progressive minded people in Europe to support the March to The Hague which will begin in Frankfurt (Germany) on March 4. We urge everyone to contact the organizers, mobilize people to take part in the march and assist in any way they can.

"جنبش مقاومت مردم جهان" (شاخه اروپا)

 در حمایت از فراخوان همبستگی با زنان در ایران

 و راهپیمائی به طرف شهر لاهه برای لغو کلیه قوانین ضد زن در ایران

در 27 سال گذشته جمهوری اسلامی ایران حاکمیت ترور را بر مردم ایران تحمیل کرده است. این رژیم تئوکراتیک ارتجاعی با بیرحمی تمام مردم ایران را استثمار و سرکوب کرده است تا جیب های طبقات حاکمه ایران را پر کند و توده های مردم و منابع طبیعی این کشو را به عنوان منبع مافوق سود در خدمت قدرت های امپریالیستی جهان قرار دهد.

ایدئولوژی قرون وسطائی آیت الله بطور خاص زنان ایران را قربانی افراطی ترین اشکال انقیاد پاتریارکال کرده است. همانطور که فراخوان کارزار لغو کلیه قوانین ضد زن و مجازات های اسلامی در ایران خاطر نشان می کند، قوانین اسلامی « بخاطر امور بسیار ساده و نرمال  زندگی روزمره مانند نپوشاندن  موی سر و داشتن تن پوش غیر اسلامی (یعنی پوشش از سر تا پا)، راه رفتن در معابر عمومی با مردی که شوهر یا عضو خانواده نیست، مجرم قلمداد می کنند. این قوانین همسران بی وقا یا زنان "بی ناموس" را محکوم به دار یا سنگسار می کنند؛ پدر را مجاز می شمارند که دختر 9 ساله اش را شوهر دهد؛ به مردان آزادی عمل می دهند که همسران، خواهران، مادران و دخترانشان را به قتل برسانند. طبق این قوانین زنان برای سفر باید اجازه نامه رسمی شوهر را داشته باشند. در زمینه های شهادت زن نصف مرد خوانده می شود. شوهر می تواند زنش را طلاق دهد و زن  اگر بخواهد طلاق بگیرد ممکنست هرگز نتواند. سقط جنین غیرقانونی است و جرم محسوب می شود. قضات اسلامی مختارند کلیه اموری را در این قوانین ذکر نشده با توسل به شریعت، بر حسب تفاسیر خودشان و رجوع به کتابهائی که توسط آیت الله ها نگاشته شده اند، قضاوت کنند.»

این وضعیت غیرقابل به این معناست که در 27 ساله گذشته زنان ایران به صورت نیمه برده زیسته اند. در همان حال آنها با شجاعت در اشکال گوناگون (آشکار و پنهان؛ بشکل فردی یا متشکل)علیه این ستم گری بیرحمانه مبارزه کرده اند. این نبرد ادامه دارد و بدون شک یک نقش کلیدی در شکوفائی مبارزات مردم ایران علیه این رژیم و حامیان امپریالیست آن بازی خواهد کرد. مردم اروپا، از هر ملتی و هر باور مذهبی، چه زن و چه مرد، چه پیر و چه جوان، باید فعالانه در کنار خواهرانمان در ایران بایستند. این مسئله بسیار مهم است.

این حمایت بخصوص در شرایطی که قدرت های امپریالیستی ایران را تهدید به تجاوز نظامی می کنند اهمیت دارد. قدرت های امپریالیستی ادعا می کنند که رفتار تجاوزکارانه شان علیه ایران با هدف "آزاد کردن" مردم ایران از زنجیرهای اسارت ستم تئوکراتیک (مذهبی) انجام می گیرد. اما تجاور بیشرمانه آنها به افغانستان و عراق حاکی از واقعیت دیگری است. در افغانستان سلاح های آنان ده هزار نفر را کشت و اشغال افغانستان منجر به تشکیل " دولت اسلامی افغانستان" شده است و شریعت، قانون را کنترل می کند و ارتجاعی ترین آیت الله ها و جنگ سالاران مواد مخدر کشور را کنترل می کنند. در عراق، امپریالیستها بیش از 100 هزار نفر را کشته اند و در حال "خصوصی" کردن (یعنی "دزدیدن") نفت عراق و مستقر کردن یک رژیم ارتجاعی تئوکراتیک می باشند. بنابراین صحبت های آنان در مورد اینکه می خواهند مردم ایران را از دست "آیت الله های غیر انتخابی" به اصطلاح "آزاد" کنند هیچ نیست مگر یک مانور تاکتیکی برای پرده پوشی ماهیت انگلی اهدافشان در رابطه با ایران. آیا "آیت الله های انتخابی" آنان بهتر از "آیت الله های انتخاب نشده" ایرانند؟

  در واقع فقط خود مردم ایران و مبارزاتشان می تواند آنان را آزاد کند. به همین دلیل مهم است که در شرایط حساس کنونی از مبارزات اصیل مردم ایران حمایت کنیم. مبارزه زنان در ایران علیه قوانین ضد زن جمهوری اسلامی یکی از این مبارزات اصیل مردم ایران است. " کمیته موقت سازماندهی جنبش مقاومت مردم جهان" (شاخه اروپا) تمام شعب این جنبش و همه هوادارانش و همه مردم آزادیخواه اروپا را دعوت می کند که از راهپیمائی بزرگ زنان ایران که روز 4 مارس از شهر فرانکفورت آغاز شده و بطرف لاهه حرکت خواهد کرد حمایت کنند. ما از همه مصرانه تقاضا می کنیم که با سازمانگران این راهپیمائی تماس گرفته و توده های مردم را برای شرکت در آن بسیج کنند.
